Now I've played a lot of the open-world games and I actually loved Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2. The story was amazing and I ended up sidetracked all over before doing the main story. Life, right? However, while I was playing it, I certainly did curse at the over world travel and the needless fetch-quests. This is a severe problem I'm having with Final Fantasy XIV's Shadowbringers.

"I really love this game but it is so $@&#*$% BORING."

I can't stomach the deliberate waste of my time for a story that always ends in the same place: I have to kill everything in a hellscape of absurd mechanics for gear that will be obsolete soon.

Check out the article from Joe Veix at the Outline. I couldn't help but relate to the tagline,

"‘Red Dead Redemption’ reveals the biggest problem with marquee games today: they’re boring as hell."
